I will be present for you.

In my own career, I have always worked with people. I have worked mainly in homeless services and in career guidance in local employment and addiction support services. I built a career that satisfies me by following my interests. In any job, I would think, ‘what about this interests me the most?’ and I would follow that hunch to the next stage.

When I studied career theory, I learned that hunch was what is known as need-satisfying.

I would like to work with you.

I would like to support women who are trying to find their way into the labour market or to continue their career development.

I would like to support people who have moved to Ireland from other countries and cultures to feel valued and respected in their work for who they are.

I would like to support people with additional complexities in their lives such as those who are neurodivergent, who have a health condition or who for whatever reason, have experiences that have made life and work challenging.

Many people find themselves evaluating and reconsidering their career choices as their circumstances change, or the nature of the work they have chosen changes.

I can support you as you take extra care in constructing a working life that aligns well with your needs.

Whether you are feeling burned out by your experiences of work, feel that you have insurmountable barriers to your career progression or are just evaluating your options, I want to work with you.

Learn to make choices that are consistent with your goals.

I will work with you in your context.  Together we can develop a response to the experiences you are having.  Through telling your story, you can construct your own meaning about the influence your experiences have had on your working life.

Whatever your personal story, I will see you not through labels but by the person you are.  I will meet you where you are at.

My Story

I am a Career Counsellor in private practice working with adults over the age of 18 only.   My approach in career counselling is to be first and foremost interested in the person opposite me.  I don’t believe that career and life can be separated neatly into bubbles.

I have an MA in History from UCD and a Master of Career Development from Edith Cowan University in Australia. I am a fully qualified member of the Institute of Guidance Counsellors. As part of achieving accreditation with the IGC, I undertook additional postgraduate studies in Adult Guidance and Counselling Skills at Maynooth University.

I have a special interest in promoting gender equality, social inclusion and the breaking down of related barriers.  I would like to focus particularly on the needs of people who find themselves excluded from the labour market.  I am a Qualified Member of the Institute of Guidance Counsellors and I adhere to the IGC Code of Ethics, which is the professional regulatory framework for guidance practice in Ireland.
